This Week: The No. 9 Pepperdine men's water polo team plays travels to No. 8 UC Santa Barbara on Thursday for a non-conference matchup, and host No. 2 UCLA on Saturday.
Game #20: Thursday (Oct. 5) vs. No. 8 UC Santa Barbara at Campus Pool in Goleta, Calif.: No. 9 Pepperdine (13-6, 0-0 GCC) vs. No. 8 UC Santa Barbara (8-5, 0-0 GCC) at 12:00 p.m.
Game #21: Saturday (Oct. 7) vs. No. 1 UCLA at Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool in Malibu, Calif.: No. 9 Pepperdine (13-6, 0-0 GCC) vs. No. 2 UCLA (12-1, 0-0 MPSF) at 12:00 p.m.

GCC Player of the Week: Sam Paur was awarded the GCC Player of the Week for Sept. 14 after scoring six goals on Sunday, Sept. 10. Paur is the first Wave to win the award this year.
Series vs. UCLA: UCLA 31-74-1 - The Waves and Bruins have met each year since 1975. The Bruins have won each meeting since 2008.
Series vs. UCSB: Pepperdine 60-46 - The Waves and Gauchos have met each year since 1975, with the Waves winning the last meeting in 2016.
Last Week: Last week, the Waves fell to No. 2 USC at home, 12-5. Both Marko Asic and Mate Toth scored two goals for the Waves.
2017 Alumni Game: The 2017 Alumni game will take place directly after the game against UCLA on Saturday.
Rankings: The Waves are currently ranked No. 9 in the nation by the Collegiate Water Polo Association. Pepperdine has been ranked as high as No. 8 on the year.
1997 National Championship: This week, Pepperdine is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the 1997 Pepperdine Men's Water Polo National Championship team. The team will be honored at halftime during the game against UCLA, and the 1997 National Championship trophy will be on the pool deck for fans to take pictures with.
