Men's Golf Wraps Up Royal Oaks Intercollegiate

DALLAS, Texas " Clay Feagler recorded his second hole-in-one in as many days and Joshua McCarthy tied for sixth place to lead the Pepperdine men's golf team at the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate, which concluded on Tuesday.
The Waves finished in sixth place with a two-day total of a 5-over 857 (286-279-292) at the par-71 Royal Oaks Country Club.

- Sophomore Joshua McCarthy (Danville, Calif./De La Salle HS) recorded his best finish of the season and the second-best of his career, a tie for sixth place with a 4-under 209 (68-70-71). McCarthy had a team-high 11 birdies over the two days, including three during his even-par round today.
- Sophomore Clay Feagler (Laguna Niguel, Calif./Dana Hills HS) posted a hole-in-one at #4 during Monday's first round. Today, he knocked home an ace on hole #8. That and a birdie on #6 helped him to the Waves' best score of the day, a 1-under 70, moving him up to a tie for 21st place with an even-par 213 (76-67-70). Not surprisingly, Feagler finished tops in the tournament in par-3 scoring (-3) and eagles (two).
- Junior Sahith Theegala (Chino Hills, Calif./Diamond Bar HS) came in a tie for 24th place with a 1-over 214 (69-70-75).
- Junior Roy Cootes (Rolling Hills, Calif./Palos Verdes HS) tied for 53rd place at 222 (74-72-76).
- Freshman Austin Murphy (Morgan Hill, Calif./Bellarmine College Preparatory) came in 70th at 228 (75-76-77). He was making his collegiate debut.

The Waves' final tournament of the fall will be November 3-5 at the Ka'anapali Classi Collegiate Invitational on the island of Maui.
