ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico " Inclement weather halted play late in Monday's second round of the season-opening Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational with the Pepperdine women's golf team in 12th place.
The Waves shot a 296 during Monday's first round at the par-72 UNM Championship Golf Course, good for a tie for 10th place. BirdieFire shows the Waves as having completed 11 to 13 holes of the second round.
The second round will pick up at 7:30 a.m. MT, with the third and final round to immediately follow.
Sophomore Hira Naveed (Perth, Australia) is the top-performing Wave thus far. She's at 2-under, good for a tie for 12th place. Naveed had a 1-under 71 in the morning, which included two birdies and just one bogey, and is 1-under through 12 recorded holes in the second round.
Playing as an individual, junior Katherine Zhu (Vancouver, B.C.) is tied for 33rd at 1-over. Her second round has her at 4-under after 12 holes. As far as the others in the lineup, freshman Momoka Kobori (Rangiora, New Zealand) is tied for 40th at 2-over, sophomore Hannah Haythorne (Honolulu, Hawai'i/IMG Academy) is tied for 57th at 4-over, junior Tatiana Wijaya (Jakarta, Indonesia) is tied for 74th at 9-over and sophomore Patricia Wong (Walnut, Calif./Walnut HS) is tied for 90th at 13-over.
