FAIRFAX, Calif. - A rain-shortened first day of play at the Bay Area Intercollegiate left the Pepperdine women's golf team in 10th place and Marissa Chow just three strokes off the individual lead.

With rain delaying play all day, the competition was shortened to 36 holes as team completed one round on Monday. Pepperdine shot a 307 to sit 12 strokes back of the lead.

Chow (Honolulu, Hawaii/Iolani HS) fired a one-over 73 in the tough conditions, sitting in a tie for 10th place after the opening round. Alexis Keating of Colorado and Erin Harper of Indiana lead the tournament after shooting 70 on Monday.

Katherine Zhu (Vancouver, B.C./Zhuji Hailiang Private School) and Tatiana Wijaya (Jakarta, Indonesia/Shenton College) each shot 77 to sit tied for 32nd place. Hira Naveed (Perth, Australia/Como Secondary College) shot 80 and Patricia Wong (Walnut, Calif./Walnut HS) shot 82 to round out the scores for the Waves.

Oregon State leads the field after shooting a 295 and Colorado sits one stroke back at 296. The second and final round of the tournament will begin at 9 a.m. tomorrow at the Meadow Club.
