MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The No. 10-ranked Pepperdine women's tennis squad began the final day of the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic with a 4-0 sweep over No. 61-ranked Auburn at the Lagoon Park Tennis Center in Montgomery, Ala. After picking up the doubles point, the Waves singles competitors worked over the Tigers to earn the uncontested victory.

To open singles play No. 4-ranked freshman Luisa Stefani picked up her eighth consecutive singles win of the 2016 spring campaign, all of which have been over nationally ranked opposition, as she bested No. 32-ranked Andie Dikosavljevic 6-2, 6-2 to bring the Waves up 2-0 on the day.

Pepperdine's advantage extended to 3-0 after junior Apichaya Runglerdkriangkrai put down Paula de Man. The junior put in a hard-fought battle to secure a 7-5 win in the first set and then destroyed her competition in the second set with a 6-0 victory. The win marked Runglerdkriangkrai's third straight singles win in three weeks.

To clinch the sweep, senior Michaela Capannolo dropped Caroline Turner with a 6-2, 6-3 result. Capannolo is now 3-1 in singles play from the number six position and is currently on a two-match winning streak.

The Waves opened the dual with a strong 6-2 doubles win from sophomore Laura Gulbe and freshman Dzina Milovanovic over Dikosavljevic and Alannah Griffin. Earlier in the day, Runglerdkriangkrai and Stefani garnered the advantage due to an Auburn injury, resulting in the Waves going up 1-0 over the Tigers early.

No. 12 duo senior Matea Cutura and junior Christine Maddox also faced off with No. 36 Tigers' pair Pleun Burgman and Paula de Man, but the match remained unfinished when the Waves clinched the doubles point.

Next, Pepperdine will compete for the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic title against No. 11 Oklahoma State at 3 p.m. (PT) this Saturday afternoon.
