
Pepperdine Finishes Fourth at PCSC Championships

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Competition at the PCSC Championships concluded on Monday night, with the Pepperdine women's swim and dive team grabbing its highest finish at the event since 2010, finishing fourth.
The Waves scored 983.5 points to top the 827.5 they scored in 2010 when the team last finished fourth at the conference championship meet. Pepperdine's best finishes came in 1989 and 2008 when the team finished second. UC San Diego won the meet with a score of 1,573.5.
Highlighting the final day at the four-day meet was again senior Jessica Mosbaugh, who finished second in the 200 breaststroke with the second fastest time in school history, 2:14.69. The time was also good for NCAA B cut.
Also in the 200 breaststroke, Megan Henley (2:25.10) took 10th place with a personal best 2:25.10 and Julianna Chan swam a personal best 2:29.80 to finish 15th.
In the 200 butterfly, Allie Carter grabbed sixth place with a 2:05.92, the fourth best all-time Pepperdine mark. Julia Sneden finished eighth with a 2:08.03 and Joie Eckhard finished 19th with a personal best 2:14.20.
Allison Naasz also put up a top five Pepperdine time, swimming the fourth fastest time in school history in the 100 free with a 51.77 to finish seventh overall. Caroline Boone swam a 54.05 to finish 23rd.
Sabrina Altman (2:10.49) grabbed 12th place in the 200 backstroke for the Waves and Kathrine Kuhlmann (2:12.81) took 15th place. Both were personal bests. Erin Himes also grabbed a 12th place finish for the Waves, swimming a personal best 18:16.43 in the 1650 free.
Pepperdine got a seventh place finish in the 400 free relay from the team of Rachel Wilt, Boone, Naasz and Rachel Wong.
The Waves swam numerous personal bests and top Pepperdine times over the course of the meet, including a PCSC title and school record in the 100 breaststroke. The conference meet concludes the season for the Waves.
