
Waves Fall on the Road to USC, 15-4

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The No. 8 Pepperdine men's water polo team fell on the road at No. 3 USC on Friday, 15-4, in a non-conference matchup.
Pepperdine drops to 8-7 on the year, while the Trojans move to 13-1.
After one quarter of play the Waves trailed by just one, 2-1, but USC would score five unanswered goals in the second period to take a 7-1 lead into the half. Mate Toth (Balatonalmadi, Hungary/Szilagyi Erzsebet Boarding School) scored the lone goal in the first half for Pepperdine.
The Waves got an early goal from Justin Cowan (Rossmoor, Calif./Los Alamitos HS) in the second half to make it an 8-2 game, but couldn't build any momentum. USC rattled off four more goals to take a 12-2 lead into the fourth quarter.
Marko Asic (Laguna Niguel, Calif./Dana Hills HS) and Toth tallied goals in the fourth quarter for the Waves. Four players had multiple goals for USC.
The Waves were just 1-for-9 on powerplay opportunities, while the Trojans went 6-for-8.
