Pepperdine Signs Sponsorship Deal with VWSE

Oct. 17, 2016 NEW YORK and MALIBU, California " Van Wagner Sports and Entertainment (VWSE) today announced that the Pepperdine University Athletics Department has selected the company to manage its multimedia rights and serve as exclusive sales agent for its corporate sponsorship program.

As part of the multi-year pact, the VWSE Collegiate Services division will oversee the locally based operation, "Pepperdine Athletics Sponsorships," which is dedicated to the management, sales and integration of the corporate sponsorship on a local, regional and national level within multimedia resources, including the school's broadcast assets, digital, venue signage, marketing and promotions, promotional rights to athletic marks, and hospitality.

"We are excited to partner with VWSE, and believe that the opportunities presented by this relationship opens opportunities for expanded revenue streams and even more exposure for our programs," said Pepperdine Director of Athletics Steve Potts.

VWSE also has finalized agreements with the West Coast Conference and its member institutions, Loyola Marymount University and the University of San Francisco for this unique strategy of incorporating institutional and conference assets to provide a comprehensive marketing strategy for corporate partners.

"Pepperdine athletics is synonymous with success, and Steve and his team have done an incredible job guiding the department," said VWSE Executive Vice President Mike Palisi. "We are excited to collaborate to help expand the program's reach and achieve its business goals through a robust multimedia sponsorship platform."

Pepperdine has won NCAA Division I Championships in five different men's sports, one of just 17 schools to have accomplished this feat, and nine overall. The Waves have won a total of 25 team or individual national championships in their history. Pepperdine has also earned the Division I-AAA All-Sports Trophy, an award based on postseason success that's given to the top non-football school, three times (most recently in 2011-12).

Since its inception in 2014, VWSE Collegiate Services has grown to represent the sponsorship or multimedia rights for multiple schools, including the West Coast Conference, University of San Francisco, Loyola Marymount University, Florida International University, Georgia State University, Siena College, and Stony Brook University among others.
