Final Results

PALO ALTO, California " The Pepperdine women's golf team's final round of the fall season was washed out by rain as Sunday's third round of the Stanford Intercollegiate was called off partway through the day.

Only the first two days will count, so the Waves ended in a tie for 11th place with a total of 603 (302-301) at the par-71 Stanford Golf Course. The tournament featured a tremendous field as of the 10 teams to finish ahead of the Waves, five ranked in the top 10 and eight were in the top 25.

Head coach Laurie Gibbs lamented losing the final round, noting that the Waves were playing well through nine holes despite the rain. But standing water on several greens forced the end of play.

Junior Katherine Zhu (Vancouver, B.C.) picked up her third straight top-20 finish, a tie for 18th place with a total of 147 (73-74).

Sophomore Hira Naveed (Perth, Australia) tied for 34th place at 150 (75-75), sophomore Patricia Wong (Walnut, Calif./Walnut HS) tied for 53rd at 153 (78-75), sophomore Hannah Haythorne (Honolulu, Hawai'i/IMG Academy) also tied for 53rd at 153 (76-77) and junior Tatiana Wijaya (Jakarta, Indonesia) tied for 79th at 158 (79-79).

Pepperdine will begin the spring with its own Bruin Wave Invitational at the San Luis Obispo Country Club on February 27-28.
