Waves Conclude First Women's Golf Tournament of Season

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. " The Pepperdine women's golf team concluded the season-opening Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational on Tuesday with a 13th-place finish.
The Waves shot a two-day total of 901 (304-292-305) at the par-73 UNM Championship Course.
Senior Marissa Chow (Honolulu, Hawaii/Iolani HS) led the Waves by finishing in a tie for 23rd place with an even-par 219 (70-75-74). Her final round consisted of 15 pars, two bogeys and one birdie.
Sophomore Tatiana Wijaya (Jakarta, Indonesia/Shenton College) tied for 36th place at 224 (78-71-75), freshman Patricia Wong (Walnut, Calif./Walnut HS) tied for 45th at 226 (74-72-80), sophomore Katherine Zhu (Vancouver, B.C./Zhuji Hailiang Private School) tied for 75th at 235 (83-74-78) and junior Alessandra Arza (Asuncion, Paraguay/Asuncion Christian Academy) tied for 89th at 242 (82-82-78).
Playing as an individual was freshman Hannah Haythorne (Honolulu, Hawaii/IMG Academy), who took 84th place at 239 (79-71-89).
The Waves will return to action at the Golfweek Conference Challenge, held at the Red Sky Golf Club in Wolcott, Colo., from Sept. 21-23. Pepperdine has won the tournament three straight years and four times overall.
