
McManus Leads Men's Golf at The Goodwin

PALO ALTO, Calif. - Cody McManus tied for 14th place at The Goodwin on Saturday to lead the Pepperdine men's golf team for the second straight event.
The Waves finished in 11th place out of 24 teams, shooting a total of 851 (281-286-284) over the three days at the par-70 Stanford Golf Course.
Pepperdine defeated four of the other five West Coast Conference schools in the field, finishing behind Saint Mary's but ahead of Santa Clara, Loyola Marymount, BYU and San Francisco.
McManus (Phoenix, Ariz./Desert Vista HS), a redshirt sophomore, shot a 4-under 206 (67-72-67). The 4-under established a new collegiate best, while the pair of 3-unders matched his career low. He had a total of 14 birdies for the week.
Junior Frederick Wedel (The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands HS) tied for 50th at 206 (67-72-67), senior Kevin DeHuff (Coto de Caza, Calif./Santa Margarita Catholic HS) tied for 73rd at 217 (75-72-70), freshman Anthony Cecere (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif./St. Margaret's Episcopal School) tied for 73rd at 217 (68-72-77) and sophomore Robin Kang (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif./South Torrance HS) tied for 116th at 229 (81-74-74).
Pepperdine has its final tuneup before the West Coast Conference Championships when the Waves play at Arizona State's Thunderbird Invitational on April 3-4.
