Nov. 8, 2015 BERKELEY, Calif. - The No. 9 Pepperdine men's water polo played its second road game in the Bay Area on Sunday, falling 26-3 at No. 4 Cal.
The Waves fell behind early and never got anything going offensively as the Golden Bears pulled away. Two of the Pepperdine goals came in the second half.
Pepperdine falls to 11-12 overall and 1-6 in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play. Cal moves to 20-5, 6-2 MPSF.
Christopher Dilworth (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Thousand Oaks HS) scored the lone first-half goal for the Waves, getting the visitors on the board in the opening period. Spencer Lupin (Mission Viejo, Calif./Santa Margarita Catholic HS) and Mark Urban (Budapest, Hungary//Diablo Valley College) scored for Pepperdine in the second half.
Kyle Krutenat (Santa Barbara, Calif./Dos Pueblos HS) had nine saves in goal for the Waves. Lazar Andric posted 12 saves for Cal.
The Golden Bears had 15 different players score in the game.
The Waves will be back in action next week when they play their final two regular-season games. Pepperdine plays at UC Irvine on Friday and then hosts UC Santa Barbara on Sunday.
