
Women's Swim and Dive Wins at PCSC Relays

MALIBU, Calif. - The Pepperdine women's swimming and diving team opened the 2015-16 season on a high note, winning the PCSC Relays in La Mirada on Friday. Pepperdine scored 150 points on the day to win the meet by 28 points.
The Waves won four events on the day and finished in the top three in 11 total events for the win. Pepperdine edged last year's winner, Azusa Pacific, who scored a total of 122 points.
Fresno Pacific finished third with 60 points, followed by Biola with 58 and Concordia with 43.
Pepperdine picked up its first win of the day in the 3x100 yard breaststroke with a time of 3:22.63. Senior Jessica Mosbaugh (Los Alamitos, Calif./Los Alamitos HS) was joined by a pair of freshmen, Lauren Allard (Arlington, Va./Yorktown HS) and Juliana Chan (Davis, Calif./Da Vinci Charter Academy), to get the win for the Waves.
Tori Occhipinti (Coto de Caza, Calif./Crean Lutheran HS) had a stellar debut on the boards for Pepperdine, winning the 1-meter event and placing second in the 3-meter competition.
Sabrina Altman (Kula, Hawaii/Seabury Hall), Mosbaugh, Nicolette Barreiro (Valencia, Calif./Hart HS) and Allison Naasz (Lodi, Calif./Tokay HS) led the Waves to a win in the 400 yard medley later in the day, recording a time of 3:59.41. Mosbaugh and Naasz were then joined by Rachel Wong (La Canada, Calif./La Canada HS) and Julia Sneden (Charlotte, N.C./Providence Day School) on the 4x100 yard IM team to pick up the fourth victory of the day for Pepperdine with a time of 4:07.98.
The Waves also had second place finishes in the 3x100 yard butterfly, 3x100 yard backstroke, 200 yard freestyle and 400 yard freestyle events.
