SAMMAMISH, Wash. " Freshman Patricia Wong finished in a tie for seventh place to lead the Pepperdine women's golf team to a fifth-place result at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational on Wednesday.
The Waves had a two-day total of 906 (299-298-309) at the par-72 Sahalee Country Club.
Wong (Walnut, Calif./Walnut HS) shot a 223 (75-72-76) and had a team-high nine birdies over her three rounds. She posted her first career top-10 result in her third collegiate event.
Sophomore Tatiana Wijaya (Jakarta, Indonesia) also had a good result, tying for 12th place at 225 (71-76-78). It was her second straight top-20 finish.
Senior Marissa Chow (Honolulu, Hawaii/Iolani HS) tied for 22nd place at 228 (76-76-76), junior Alessandra Arza (Asuncion, Paraguay) tied for 38th at 233 (77-77-79) and sophomore Katherine Zhu (Vancouver, B.C.) tied for 41st at 234 (77-74-83).
Pepperdine plays its fourth and final tournament of the fall at the Stanford Intercollegiate from Oct. 18-20.
