PALO ALTO, Calif. " Marissa Chow's bid to earn medalist honors at the Stanford Intercollegiate came up just short as the senior All-American on the Pepperdine women's golf team earned a second-place finish on Tuesday.

Chow (Honolulu, Hawaii/Iolani HS) had a one-stroke lead over UCLA's Bronte Law after both the first and second rounds, but Law jumped ahead during the final day of play at the par-71 Stanford Golf Course to claim the title.

Chow finished with a 5-under 208 (66-70-72), three strokes behind Law, and collected her second top-five finish of the fall season. Chow's final round included two birdies and she had 11 for the tournament. Her finish was quite impressive considering the competition, which included the top four teams in the country according to Golfweek/Sagarin, as well as eight of the top 14.

Unfortunately, Chow's play wasn't enough to lift the Waves out of a 16th-place team finish. Pepperdine shot a total of 904 (298-305-301) over the three days.

Freshman Patricia Wong (Walnut, Calif./Walnut HS) tied for 46th place at 223 (74-74-75), sophomore Tatiana Wijaya (Jakarta, Indonesia) tied for 79th at 237 (81-81-75), junior Alessandra Arza (Asuncion, Paraguay) tied for 83rd at 241 (77-80-84) and sophomore Katherine Zhu (Vancouver, B.C.) was 87th at 244 (83-82-79).

This tournament ended the Waves' fall season. They'll be back in action at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge at nearby Palos Verdes Golf Club on February 7-9.
