Oct. 19, 2015 PALO ALTO, Calif. " Marissa Chow will take aim at her third collegiate title tomorrow, as the senior on the Pepperdine women's golf team still holds a one-shot lead following Monday's second round of the Stanford Intercollegiate.
Chow (Honolulu, Hawaii/Iolani HS) has a 6-under 136 (66-70) after carding her second straight below-par round. Her 1-under began with nine straight pars, then three birdies on the next four holes. After two bogeys, Chow finished with three straight pars.
Chow leads UCLA's Bronte Law (-5) by one stroke, which was also the case after the first round. Stanford's Shannon Aubert is three shots back at 3-under.
Chow, a two-time All-American, posted her previous wins at the 2014 Golfweek Conference Challenge and the 2015 West Coast Conference Championships.
Unfortunately, the rest of the Waves haven't fared as well and the Waves are now in 16th place in the team competition with a total of 603 (298-305) at the par-71 Stanford Golf Course.
Freshman Patricia Wong (Walnut, Calif./Walnut HS) is in a tie for 39th place at 148 (74-74), junior Alessandra Arza (Asuncion, Paraguay) is tied for 78th at 157 (77-80), sophomore Tatiana Wijaya (Jakarta, Indonesia) is tied for 84th at 162 (81-81) and sophomore Katherine Zhu (Vancouver, B.C.) is tied for 88th at 165 (83-82).
