
Miller Earns Gold Glove, Brown All-Region From ABCA

MALIBU, Calif. - The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) released its All-West Region and Gold Glove Awards today and Pepperdine's Corey Miller and Aaron Brown were honored.
Miller (Laguna Niguel, Calif./JSerra Catholic HS) earned West Region Gold Glove honors as a pitcher and Brown (Chatsworth, Calif./Chatsworth HS) was named All-Region as both an outfielder and pitcher. Brown was named All-West Region first team as a pitcher and was named to the second team as an outfielder.
Miller was one of 10 players named to the West Region Gold Glove list and was the only pitcher to earn the honor. The senior righty made 16 starts on the year, committing zero errors in a team-high 118.1 innings pitched. Miller recorded 11 putouts and 22 assists as the Friday starter for the Waves. He posted a 1.90 ERA and 9-5 record in his final season at Pepperdine.
Brown compiled a 13-1 record on the mound this year, with a 1.95 ERA, 104 strikeouts and just 40 walks to earn first team honors in the west region. The junior lefty limited hitters to just a .212 average in 115.2 innings pitched this season, giving up just 40 walks and a total of 25 earned runs.
As the Waves' starting centerfielder, Brown hit .314 with a team-high 49 RBI on the season and slugged .554 with 29 extra-base hits. Brown led the WCC with 13 homers and had 13 doubles and three triples as well. He also scored 44 runs and stole five bases while starting all 61 games for the Waves this year.
Fifteen players earned All-West Region honors and 17 players were named to the second team by the ABCA
