MALIBU, Calif. - The Pepperdine women's basketball team dropped its final non-conference game of the season on Friday, falling to Albany, 62-36, at home.

The Waves went cold for a stretch that extended through the halftime break and were never able to recover.

The teams played close through much of the first half, with the Waves pulling even at 16-16 on back-to-back baskets by Bria Richardson (Hawthorne, Calif./Serra HS) and Allie Green (Sacramento, Calif./Sacramento HS). Albany responded with a 10-1 run over the final 5:43 of the half to take a 26-17 lead into the break, however.

In the first half, 16 of Albany's 26 points came in the paint and the Great Danes scored 13 points off of 12 Wave turnovers. Pepperdine had been shooting over 40 percent for much of the period, but after going cold in the last five minutes, finished shooting 30.4 percent.

A 16-1 run to open the second half would give Albany a commanding 42-18 advantage. After only getting free throws, Pepperdine broke through with its first field goal of the half at the 8:10 mark as Kim Jacobs (Agoura Hills, Calif./Agoura HS) hit a jumper and then 3-pointer on back-to-back possessions. Despite outscoring Albany over the final eight minutes, the Waves couldn't make up the deficit.

Freshmen Jacobs and Olivia Ogwumike (Cypress, Texas/Cypress Woods HS) finished with seven points each to lead the Waves, who shot a season-low 26.7 percent in the game.

Albany was led by Shereesha Richards with 16 points. The Great Danes shot 53.2 percent in the game and finished with 34 points in the paint in the second half. Albany moves its record to 6-4 with the victory.

Pepperdine finishes non-conference play with a 5-6 mark. The Waves will have a 10-day break over the holidays before resuming action on Dec. 29 when they host LMU in their WCC opener.
