MALIBU, Calif. - The Pepperdine baseball team's annual Blue and Orange World Series wrapped up this week and junior first-baseman Brad Anderson was named MVP after leading Team Blue to a series sweep.
Anderson was on a tear through the five-game series, batting .538 with six runs driven in to lead all players in both categories. Anderson also led the series with five extra-base hits, including two doubles, one triple and two homers. The 6-4 righty scored a series-best six times and walked once as well.
Anderson is coming off a season in which he started all 61 games for the Waves and was named to the WCC All-Tournament team. He hit .282 and drove in 33 runs as a key figure on a Pepperdine squad that won the WCC title and made a run to the NCAA Super Regionals.
Here's a look at some of the top performers in this year's Blue and Orange World series. The Waves' regular season opens on Feb. 13 when Pepperdine hosts Tulane for a three-game series.
