
Barnett's Walk-Off Finishes Sweep For Blue

Malibu, Calif. - Team Blue rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to sweep the five-game Blue and Orange World Series from Team Orange. Orange had just scored two runs in the top of the seventh to take the lead.
Chase Lambert got Blue going off Orange starter Chandler Blanchard with a lead-off triple in the bottom of the first. Austin Bernard followed with an RBI-single to give Blue a 1-0 lead. Orange tied the game in the top of the third. Brandon Caruso's triple to right-center scored Isaiah Deutsch to knot the game at one apiece.
Blue answered back in the bottom of the third. Aaron Barnett's two out single to center drove in Bernard and Chris Fornaci to give Blue a 3-1 lead. Orange cut the lead to one when Ben Rodriguez grounded out to score Jack Ross in the sixth.
Orange rallied in the seventh take the lead. After a lead-off double by Kolten Yamaguchi, Mitchell Gallagher was hit by a pitch. Josh Davis drove them both in with a double to deep center field to give Orange a 4-3 lead. The lead was short lived. Barnett drove in the tying and winning run with a booming two-out double to right-center field.
Barnett led the way with two hits and four RBI. Junior Chris Fornaci had four hits in the win. Senior Mat Snider picked up the win in relief, while Evan Dunn suffered the loss.
