SAN DIEGO, Calif. - After a 6-0, 6-0 rout in the Round of 16 at the USTA/ITA Southwest Regional Championships on Friday, Pepperdine women's tennis standout Lorraine Guillermo is into Saturday's quarterfinals.

After winning once on Thursday at San Diego's Barnes Tennis Center, Guillermo was victorious twice on Friday. She defeated UCLA's Kristin Wiley 7-6 (7-5), 6-1, in the Round of 32 before blanking Grand Canyon's Priscilla Annoual in her second match of the day.

Guillermo, the #2 seed who is ranked 20th nationally, will now take on #8-seed Cindy Nguyen of Hawaii on Saturday.

Both of Pepperdine's doubles teams are still alive in the main draw after winning their first matches of the tournament in Friday's Round of 32. Sixth-seeded Michaela Capannolo and Danielle Feneridis defeated a duo from Cal State Northridge, 8-6, and the fifth-seeded team of Guillermo and Apichaya Runglerdkriangkrai knocked out a Hawaii pair, 8-2.

Runglerdkriangkrai fell in singles in the Round of 32 of the main draw today, but Capannolo won twice in consolation play (beating Michelle Erasmus of Cal State Fullerton, 6-3, 4-6, 7-5, and Alexandra Osborne of Arizona State, 6-0, 6-2). Feneridis also won a consolation match against Courtney Pattugalan of UC Riverside, 6-4, 6-1.

Capannolo and Feneridis are into the fourth round of the consolation draw. Runglerdkriangkrai will continue on in a "lucky loser" draw.
