
Perri's Hit Wins it for Orange in Ninth

MALIBU, Calif. - Team Orange took the opening game of the best of three Blue and Orange World Series by a score of 1-0 Friday. Freshman Michael Perri's two out double in the bottom of the ninth scored freshman Nick Costello for a game one walk off victory.
Sophomore pitcher Jackson McClelland allowed no runs and only two hits in his six innings of work. Evan Dunn pitched two scoreless innings and Ivan Dilda earned the victory after pitching a scoreless ninth. Brad Anderson, Brandon Caruso and Costello each collected 2 hits each in the win.
Senior starter Eric Karch tossed 5.2 scoreless innings in the loss for the Blue. Karch struck out six and scattered six hits. Freshman catcher Aaron Barrnett had two hits for Team Blue.
After a travel day on Saturday, the series resumes Sunday at 1pm. Senior Corey Miller (Orange) will oppose Senior Matt Maurer (Blue).
