Barker (Irvine, Calif./Woodbridge HS) entered the 2012 season as the school's all-leader in goals-against average (0.77) and was second in both shutouts (24) and wins (35). She's been named All-West Coast Conference three times, making the second team in 2009 and 2011 and honorable mention in 2010.
She was the first-ever Pepperdine women's soccer player to appear in the Olympics. Placed in what some considered to be the "Group of Death", South Africa posted a 0-2-1 record in group play. Barker started South Africa's first-ever appearance in the sport at the Olympics, a loss to Sweden. She did not play the next two games.
Barker has helped the Waves to a 4-1 start this season and a #10 national ranking in the NSCAA poll. Pepperdine will play Arizona State and Arizona in a tournament hosted by ASU this weekend.
