Anderson, Mac Arthur Finish Strong at ASU Thunderbird Invitational

MALIBU, Calif. - Senior Josh Anderson and junior Johnny Mac Arthur had strong finishes for the Pepperdine men's golf team at the Arizona State Thunderbird Invitational on Saturday, as both players shot below-par rounds to end the tournament.
As a team, the Waves finished in ninth place with a score of a 15-over 867 (287-292-288) at the par-71 Karsten Golf Course. Six of the eight teams that finished ahead of the Waves were in Golfstat's top 30.
Anderson (Murrieta, Calif./Murrieta Valley HS) posted his seventh top-10 result of the season as his 4-under 209 (67-74-68) put him into a tie for eighth place. His final round included six birdies, with three of them coming in the first four holes.
Mac Arthur (Newhall, Calif./Hart HS) tied for 20th place after his second straight below-par round. He ended up with an even-par 213 (74-70-69). His final round included four birdies. It was his seventh top-20 finish of the season.
Additionally, sophomore Parker Page (Louisville, Ky./Ballard HS) tied for 53rd place at 223 (73-75-75), freshman Caston Roberts (Gilbert, Ariz./Gilbert Christian HS) tied for 66th at 226 (73-73-80) and freshman Kevin DeHuff (Coto de Caza, Calif./Santa Margarita Catholic HS) tied for 81st at 232 (74-82-76).
This was the Waves' final tune-up prior to the West Coast Conference Championships, which will be held April 16-18 at the San Juan Oaks Golf Club in Hollister, Calif.
