Round 1 Results

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Pepperdine women's golf team had a difficult first round on Sunday at the Battle at the Rancho Bernardo Inn, as the Waves stand in 14th place.

Pepperdine shot a 311 at the par-72 Rancho Bernardo Inn Golf Resort & Spa. Though it's an outstanding field with six top 10-ranked teams and 10 in the top 25 according to Golfstat, all but four teams shot over par in double-digits on Sunday. The second and third rounds are on Monday and Tuesday.

Senior Taylore Karle (Scottsdale, Ariz./Laurel Springs Academy) had the best round for the Waves with a 3-over 75, which put her into a tie for 26th place. She recorded a team-high three birdies during her round.

Freshman Grace Na (Alameda, Calif./Alameda HS) is tied for 56th at 78, freshman Liv Cheng (Auckland, New Zealand) and junior Kaitlin Drolson (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif./Torrey Pines HS) are both tied for 60th at 79 and sophomore Danielle Kang (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Westlake HS) is tied for 72nd at 81.

Playing as an individual, freshman Danielle Gillaspy (Santa Maria, Calif./St. Joseph's HS) is in 94th with a 90.
