Pepperdine and Gonzaga Box Score (Feb. 12, 2011) 
SPOKANE, WASH. - The Pepperdine women's basketball team dropped a 73-59 decision at first-place Gonzaga Saturday afternoon at the McCarthey Athletic Center. The loss sends the Waves home with a 15-10 overall record and 6-5 mark within the West Coast Conference.
The Bulldogs remain unbeaten vs. the WCC at 10-0 as they improved to 22-4 overall.
Pepperdine led Gonzaga at halftime, 26-25, and held a nine-point advantage at the 14:35 mark of the second half, but the Bulldogs proved to be too resilient and outscored the Waves 42-19 the rest of the way.
Gonzaga's Kayla Standish paced the Bulldog offense with 24 points and pulled down 19 of the home team's 48 rebounds in recording her eighth double-double of the season. Gonzaga guards Courtney Vandersloot and Katelan Redmon each chipped in 17.
For Pepperdine, Jazmine Jackson (Oakland, Calif./Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep), Skye Barnett (Albuquerque, N.M./Cibola HS) and Shay Cooney-Williams (Frisco, Texas/Frisco HS) each hit double-digit scoring totals with 16, 15 and 11 points respectively.
The Waves shot 41% from the field on 26-63 shooting, but for the second straight game could not find their comfort zone beyond the arc (2-11) or at the free-throw line (5-11). By comparison, Gonzaga was sent to the charity stripe 29 times.
Pepperdine finishes its 2010-11 regular season with a three-game homestand that starts next Saturday, Feb. 19 at 2 p.m. vs. archrival Loyola Marymount.
