#7 Michigan Defeats Women's Tennis, 6-1

Although the Wolverines quickly won the doubles point, Bhargava (Collierville, Tenn./Houston HS) and Zalameda (Los Angeles, Calif./Beverly Hills HS) were able to edge the #32-ranked team of Mimi Nguyen and Michelle Sulahian, 8-7, at the #1 position.
Michigan also won the first five singles matches in straight sets. Pepperdine sophomore Andrea Oates (Pretoria, South Africa) gave the Waves their only point when she won the final match of the day in a third-set super-tiebreaker at the #5 position. Oates won her fourth consecutive match in singles.
The Waves, who are in the midst of playing their final 11 regular-season matches at home, next face #4 UCLA on Tuesday (March 9) at 1:30 p.m.
