Pepperdine and San Diego State Box Score (Dec. 7, 2010) 
MALIBU, Calif.- Jazmine Jackson (Oakland, Calif./Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep) and Lauren Bell (San Bruno, Calif./Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep) each scored in double figures for Pepperdine with 13 and 10 points, respectively, during the Waves' 75-61 loss to San Diego State Tuesday night at Firestone Fieldhouse.
The defeat lowered Pepperdine's record back to .500 at 5-5, while San Diego State improved to 3-4.
Seven of Jackson's points came from the foul line from where she had a perfect night, but she and the rest of her teammates struggled from the floor and shot just above 27 percent (19-70). San Diego State, meanwhile, utilized a strong interior game to shoot 56.4 percent and collected 26 assists on 31 field goals. Additionally, forty of the Aztec's points were scored in the paint.
Both Pepperdine and San Diego each came down with 39 rebounds, but despite the Waves' 22-9 advantage on the offensive glass they were only able to muster 13 second-chance points compared to 10 for the Aztecs.
Junior forward Skye Barnett (Albuquerque, N.M.) led Pepperdine with 10 boards and finished a point shy of a double-double.
Two Aztecs, however, did finish with a double-double. Coco Davis dished out 10 assists in addition to scoring 14 points, while Jessika Bradley totaled 16 points and 10 rebounds. Bradley shared high scoring honors with Paris Johnson, who sank 8-of-11 attempts.
SDSU's Kalena Tutt scored 11 points on 4-4 shooting and was 3-3 from the free-throw line.
The two schools combined for 35 trips to the charity stripe with Pepperdine connecting on 17-of-21 attempts (.810). San Diego State missed just three shots on 11-14 shooting (.786).
Pepperdine is off from competition for the next 11 days while its student-athletes prepare to take their final exams starting next week. The Waves return to their home court on Saturday, Dec. 18 vs. Cal State Fullerton.
