PALO ALTO, Calif. - The 2010 season for the ninth-ranked Pepperdine men's water polo team reached its conclusion Sunday morning following a 13-5 loss to Pacific in the seventh-place game at the MPSF Championship hosted by Stanford University's Avery Aquatic Center.
Pepperdine closed the year with a 9-18 mark, while Pacific finished with a record of 17-11.
The Tigers scored six third-period goals to break open a 4-4 game, stretching its run to 8-0 before the Waves would score again in the fourth frame. Goran Tomasevic led Pacific with three goals in the contest.
Sophomore Danny White (Oxnard, Calif./Rio Mesa HS) scored twice to lead
Pepperdine. Also scoring for the Waves were redshirt sophomore Matt Brown (Bellevue, Wash./Brown Academy), junior Nate Castillo (Newport Beach, Calif./Newport Harbor HS) and sophomore Spencer Hamby (Granite Bay, Calif./Granite Bay HS).
Pepperdine goalkeepers Bence Valics (Eger, Hungary/Szilagyi Erzsebet Secondary) and Bryce McLain (Costa Mesa, Calif./Newport Beach HS) again split time in the cage for the second straight day to combine for nine stops.
