TACOMA, Wash. - One of the best rounds of the day allowed the Pepperdine women's golf team to move up from seventh to fourth place after Tuesday's second round of the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational.
The Waves jumped over Oregon, Stanford and UC Davis thanks to a 7-over 295 (better than all but two other schools), giving them a two-day total of 596 (301-295) at the par-72 Tacoma Country Club. The final round is on Wednesday. California (567) and USC (574) have put some distance between themselves and the rest of the field but the Waves could still catch host Washington (591) for third place.

Sophomore Danielle Kang (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Westlake HS) also moved up thanks to an even-par 72, which included three birdies. She's tied for ninth place with a 2-over 146 (74-72).
