Round 1 Results 
TACOMA, Wash. - Junior Kaitlin Drolson shot a 1-over 73 on Monday to lead the Pepperdine women's golf team during the first round of play at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational, hosted by Washington.
The Waves are in seventh place as a team after an opening-round score of 301 at the par-72 Tacoma Country Club. The second and third rounds will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday (Oct. 5-6), respectively.
Drolson (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif./Torrey Pines HS), who is in 14th place, had a good finish to her round, recording her only birdies of the day on the 16th and 18th holes.
Sophomore Danielle Kang (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Westlake HS), fresh off a trans-Pacific flight after her participation in the Japan Women's Open over the weekend, is tied for 15th place after a 74.
Senior Taylore Karle (Scottsdale, Ariz./Laurel Springs Academy) and freshman Liv Cheng (Auckland, New Zealand) are both tied for 36th place with 77s while senior Martine de Gannes (Diego Martin, Trinidad) is in 73rd place after an 83. Cheng had a team-high four birdies during her round.
