Season Ticket Brochure
MALIBU, Calif. - Season tickets for what should be a very entertaining 2009-10 Pepperdine men's basketball campaign are now on sale. The schedule features 16 regular-season home games, including seven contests against postseason teams from a year ago, plus one exhibition.
Among the non-conference highlights are out-of-state foes Miami (Fla.), Utah, New Mexico State and Portland State and in-state rivals including Fresno State, Long Beach State and Pacific.
Portland State and Utah made the NCAA Tournament, Miami (Fla.) was in the NIT and Pacific was in the inaugural CollegeInsider.com Tournament.
Among the seven West Coast Conference foes, Gonzaga was in the NCAA Tournament, Saint Mary's made the NIT and Portland was in the CollegeInsider.com Tournament.
Pepperdine's West Coast Conference schedule has now been determined. Both the men and women will kick off the WCC season with a home doubleheader against local rival Loyola Marymount on Saturday, January 9. The men's squad will then host Santa Clara (Jan. 14) and San Francisco (Jan. 16) the following weekend.
Pepperdine's other home WCC games are January 28 vs. Saint Mary's, January 30 vs. San Diego, February 18 vs. Portland and February 20 vs. Gonzaga.
The Waves will play five of their first seven league games at home, but will then have to play five of the final seven on the road. Pepperdine hasn't begun a conference season with three straight home games since 1991.
Season-ticket orders that are placed before September 30 will receive an extra 10 percent discount on top of already reduced rates.
Prior to September 30, a courtside seat is $476, lower reserved seating is $179 and upper reserved seating is $143. After the deadline, those prices are $544, $204 and $163, respectively.
Season-ticket holders will enjoy benefits including reserved parking and admission to "At the Half" for halftime snacks. Those that make a minimum recommended donation - $150 for courtside reserved seating and $125 for either lower or upper reserved seating - will also become members of the Waves Club and be privy to those exclusive benefits as well.
Additionally, an all-sports pass that allows the bearer to enter any other ticketed Pepperdine sporting event (women's basketball, men's/women's volleyball, baseball, women's soccer and men's water polo) is available for $100 each.
Tickets can be purchased by visiting the athletic offices in Heritage Hall, calling (866) WAVE-TIX or by simply downloading the attached PDF and mailing it in.
A young Pepperdine team made great strides last season under the leadership of Tom Asbury, who returned to Malibu to begin his second stint as the head coach of the Waves. The squad went 9-23 overall and 5-9 for sixth place in the WCC, but three of the top four scorers were freshmen and the other one was a sophomore. The 2009-10 Waves have 12 returning lettermen, believed to be the most in school history.
