MacDonell, Snyder Named to All-MPSF Teams

MALIBU, Calif. -- Pepperdine water polo co-captains J.P. MacDonell and Clayton Snyder have been named to All-MPSF Water Polo teams for the 2009 season, according to a press release from the MPSF this afternoon.
MacDonell (Redwood City, Calif./Bellarmine Prep HS) was selected as an All-MPSF first team choice. The senior attacker is four-time All-MPSF selection. He was named MPSF co-player of the week for the week of Nov. 26. MacDonell finished as the No. 3 goal scorer on the MPSF scoring list and led the Waves offense with an average of 2.39 goals per game. The 2008 All-American concludes his career at Pepperdine as the No. 5 all-time scorer for Pepperdine with 225 goals.
Snyder (Seal Beach, Calif./Los Alamitos HS) was named to the All-MPSF second team. He was an All-MPSF third team selection in his junior year. The talented center finished the season ranked No. 25 on the MPSF scoring list. His three goals against Pacific at the MPSF Tournament were instrumental to the Waves 12-9 victory. Snyder averaged 1.29 goals per game this season. Snyder is ranked No. 21 on the Pepperdine all-time scoring list with 120 goals.
Marc Hunt (UC Irvine) was named MPSF Coach of the Year. Senior Scott Davidson (UCLA) was voted the MPSF Player of the Year and Groan Tomasevic (Pacific) was tabbed MPSF Freshman of the Year.
