MALIBU, Calif. - The Pepperdine men's basketball program announced today that five of its games will be shown locally on FOX Sports West or Prime Ticket. Additionally, one opponent has changed on the home schedule.
The Waves' game at UCLA on Nov. 23 will be shown on FOX Sports West at 8 p.m.
Both Gonzaga games will be shown by FSN. The Jan. 21 game in Spokane tips at 6 p.m., but will air on a tape-delayed basis at 10 p.m. on Prime Ticket. The Feb. 20 contest at Firestone Fieldhouse is also scheduled for 6 p.m. and will air on FOX Sports West.
Additionally, the Waves' home games against San Diego and Portland will be televised by Prime Ticket. The USD game on Jan. 30 is at 7 p.m., and the Portland contest on Feb. 18 is at 5 p.m.
Also, the team announced today that it has swapped one Division II school for another on its 2009-10 non-conference schedule, as Cal State San Bernardino will replace UC San Diego on Nov. 20. The game against the Coyotes will be the finale of Pepperdine's season-opening three-game homestand. UC San Diego withdrew from the scheduled contest and the Waves had to find a replacement.
A young Pepperdine team made great strides last season under the leadership of Tom Asbury, who returned to Malibu to begin his second stint as the head coach of the Waves. The squad went 9-23 overall and 5-9 for sixth place in the WCC, but three of the top four scorers were freshmen and the other one was a sophomore. The 2009-10 Waves have 12 returning lettermen, believed to be the most in school history.
Season tickets are now on sale. Prices are $544 for a courtside seat, $204 for lower reserved seating and $163 for upper reserved seating, respectively. Season-ticket holders will enjoy benefits including reserved parking and admission to "At the Half" for halftime snacks. Those that make a minimum recommended donation - $150 for courtside reserved seating and $125 for either lower or upper reserved seating - will also become members of the Waves Club and be privy to those exclusive benefits as well. Tickets can be purchased by visiting the athletic offices in Heritage Hall, calling (866) WAVE-TIX or by visiting www.pepperdinesports.com, accessing the ticket brochure PDF and mailing it in.
Game times for all of Pepperdine's 16 regular-season home games and one exhibition have now been set.
