Pepperdine's d?Arnaud Named Spikes' MVP

A New York Penn League Mid-Season All-Star, d’Arnaud (Long Beach, Calif./Los Alamitos HS) hit .339 on the strength of eight doubles and five triples, and scored 21 runs through his first 28 games. An injury forced d’Arnaud out of action during the first half of July, but returned to hit safely in 19 of his first 21 games back in the lineup.
d’Arnaud was the fourth-round pick of the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2008 Major League Draft. The WCC honorable mention and All-Academic honoree hit .314 with 11 home runs and 50 RBI in his senior season for the Waves.
