Women's Hoops Mourn Loss of Avid Supporters

MALIBU —The Pepperdine women’s basketball team will wear a black patch on their uniforms for the remainder of the 2007-08 season in memory of two avid supporters of the program, who recently passed away.
On Sunday, Feb. 17, Carol Sheetz, the mother of assistant women’s basketball coach, Shelley Sheetz, lost her courageous battle against lymphoma.
Coach Sheetz has been on leave of absence since Nov. 26, 2007, to care for her mother in Colorado.
“Carol will always be remembered for her vibrant smile, her warm hugs and her infectious laugh. Carol was a huge Waves fan and loved to visit and attend games as often as possible,” said head coach Julie Rousseau. “When visiting from her home in
