BASEBALL AMERICA TOUTS WAVES’ RECRUITING CLASS: Baseball America is the second national publication this offseason to recognize Pepperdine’s 2009 recruiting class, ranking it 21st in the country ... Collegiate Baseball Newspaper rated the same class 33rd in last month’s edition ... Baseball America was especially impressed with the addition of freshman outfielder Brian Humphries (Granite Hills HS, El Cajon, Calif.), who was ranked #180 on its Top 200 prospects list for the 2008 draft ... CHAD TRACY’S ARIZONA FALL LEAGUE BLOG: Fans of former Pepperdine backstop turned infielder Chad Tracy can follow his Arizona Fall League experiences through his new online blog located here ... Tracy, a 2006 draft pick of the Texas Rangers, will be spending the next few months honing his skills with the Surprise Rafters, a club comprised of prospects from the Rangers, Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Dodgers, Cleveland Indians and Baltimore Orioles ... 2008 Baseball America Minor League Player of Year and Oriole catcher Matt Wieters is one of Tracy’s teammates.
