MALIBU, Calif. -- Three Pepperdine basketball games -- two men's and one women's -- will appear on the ESPN networks during the upcoming season, the West Coast Conference office announced today. A total of 21 WCC games will be televised nationally.
The Monday, January 14 men's basketball contest at Firestone Fieldhouse between Pepperdine and Gonzaga has been set to air on ESPN as part of its "Big Monday" series. Game time is set for 9 p.m.
The men's basketball team will also appear on ESPNU on Monday, January 21, when the Waves visit Santa Clara. Game time will be 8 p.m.
The women's basketball program will get some national exposure on Thursday, January 10, as the Waves' game at Gonzaga will be shown on ESPNU at 8 p.m. It is one of only two WCC women's games that will air on the network.
The men will have additional opportunities to appear on ESPN2 or ESPN as the networks will show the semifinals and finals of the West Coast Conference Tournament in March.
The WCC and ESPN have an agreement that runs through the 2010-11 season.
