Baseball Prepares for 2008 with Fall Practice

“It is great to see our guys competing as hard as they are right now,” Pepperdine coach Steve Rodriguez said. “We are extremely excited about the new aspects of our morning workouts, and we are starting to see some amazing results.”
The Waves preparation includes morning workouts and working on baseball fundamentals. Waves pitchers have been throwing bullpen sessions, while the rest of the team takes batting practice and infield or outfield practice. Rodriguez and his assistants Rick Hirtensteiner and Sean Kenny oversee the workouts and practices, as the Waves prepare for the 2008 season. During the Navy and Orange World Series, the Waves’ squad will be split in half and the teams will take part in an intrasquad game each day. All games will be played at Eddy D. Field Stadium and times are TBA. The games are open to the public.
“The next four weeks should be very exciting, as our guys will be fighting for positions and possible starting time this season,” Rodriguez said.
