Water Polo Falls to No. 4 UCLA

MALIBU, Calif. - The Pepperdine water polo team fell to No. 4 UCLA, 18-5, Saturday afternoon in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) play at Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool in Malibu, Calif.
Pepperdine (12-16, 1-5 MPSF) was led by freshman JP MacDonell's two second period goals. Nick Corjon, Charles Wright and Jeff Willis each added a goal for the Waves.
UCLA (12-5, 3-2 MPSF) was paced by Logan Powell's five goals, while Scott Davidson and Matt Jacobs added three goals apiece.
The Bruins scored six times in the first and second periods and never looked back after holding a 12-4 lead at the half.
The Waves will conclude their home schedule tomorrow afternoon against top-ranked USC. The ball is scheduled to drop at 1 p.m. PT. The Trojans have not lost since falling to Pepperdine in Malibu a year ago.
