No. 11 Loyola Marymount Upsets No. 6 Pepperdine Saturday Afternoon

Loyola Marymount scored four of the final five goals in the fourth quarter to break an 8-8 tie en route to registering a 12-9 victory over No. 6 Pepperdine before 486 fans at the Burns Recreation and Auqatics Center on the LMU campus.
The 11th-ranked Lions improved to 8-2 on the season while the Waves fell to 4-4.
Pepperdine erased a four-goal deficit and tied the game at 8-8 with 6:30 remaining when Adam Hewko scored. However, the Lions would score four of the next five goals to secure the win.
Ben Easton broke an 8-8 deadlock with 5:14 remaining to give the Lions the lead for good at 9-8. Senior Tyler Swanson had three goals for the Lions.
Junior Endre Rex-Kiss added his third goal of the game with 2:21 remaining to build the Lions lead to 11-8. Nick Oster would cap the scoring with his second goal of the day at the :51 mark of the final quarter for the final 12-9 score.
Grant Miller, Matt Digges and Matt MacDonnell had two goals apiece to lead the Waves. Josh Acosta and Tom Jasper also added goal for the Waves.
Pepperdine will have another crack at LMU when the two rivals meet in the first round of the NorCal Tournament next Saturday in Stockton.
