Pepperdine pulled off an upset of the No. 8 Tritons as they pulled their record back to .500 on the year. The Waves defeated UCSD 7-5 Wednesday night in
Pepperdine fell behind 1-0 after the first quarter but jumped all over the Tritons in the second quarter as four different Waves scored in the period to give them a 4-3 lead at half.
Heading into the final quarter, UCSD trailed by only one until they tied the match at five with 5:15 left to play. Freshman Grant Miller would put the Waves ahead for good when he scored thirty seconds later and then added one more goal later that quarter.
Miller led the Waves attack with three goals in the match, followed by Josh Acosta who scored twice. Adam Hewko and Doug Mann each contributed one goal in the victory as Pepperdine won their second straight match.
