Coming off an upset of No. 6 LMU on Thursday, Pepperdine picked up right where they left off as they handed the No. 7 Gauchos a 6-5 defeat in
The Waves fell behind 2-0 early in the match but battle back to take the lead as they scored four unanswered goals to finish out the first half. Thanks to goals by four different Waves, including the first of two on the day for Matt Digges, Pepperdine held a 4-2 lead heading into the half.
The third quarter would be a tight one as Pepperdine matched the Gauchos to hold their two-goal lead heading into the fourth. That would prove to be vital as the Waves were held scoreless in the final quarter but held on to pull out the 6-5 victory.
Pepperdine was led by Digges two-goal performance. Josh Acosta, Adam Hewko, Grant Miller and Matt MacDonell each contributed a goal as well. Goalkeeper Robbie Miller recorded 11 saves on the day as he held the No. 6 Gauchos to only five goals.
Pepperdine concludes the regular season next Saturday at 1 p.m. as they host
