Pepperdine Drops San Francisco, 71-55

SAN FRANCISCO - Paced by junior Jennifer Lacy's 18 points and Shandrika Lee's 16, the Pepperdine women's basketball team dropped San Francisco, 71-55, on Thursday night at War Memorial Gym. Shanell Law poured in 12 points and Nicole Funn added 10 to complete the list of Waves performers who recorded double-figures on the night. The foursome's 56 combined points outscored the Lady Dons entire team.

With the win, Pepperdine improves to 9-10 overall and 3-3 in West Coast Conference action. Meanwhile, the Lady Dons fall to 8-11 and 1-5 in conference play.

The Waves shot almost 50.0 percent from the field (31-65), including 6-of-14 3-pointers (30.0 percent). Pepperdine held USF to 19 field goals and 25.6 percent shooting from the field.

While the Orange and Blue committed more turnovers than the home squad (16-15), they did manage more assists (20-12), more steals (7-3) and outrebounded them 40-35.

For the Lady Dons, Joy Hollingsworth guided her team with 15 points and Mary Jane Krueger added 10 rebounds, respectively.

Funn pitched in seven rebounds for Pepperdine and Lee contributed three steals, three assists, and four rebounds.

The Waves will face Saint Mary's in a 7:00 p.m. match on Saturday.
