This Week's Teams After seven days off for the Christmas holidays, Pepperdine is back in action this week at the Sun & Fun Classic in Miami, Florida...This will be the third tournament of the season as the Waves finished in second place at both the Turkey Shootout and Malibu Beach Classic...The Waves enter the contest against Hofstra with a 3-6 record...Pepperdine's last victory came against Fairleigh Dickinson on Dec. 20, 2003...Joining Pepperdine at the tournament is Hofstra (3-4), Albany (2-5) and host Florida International (4-6).
Last Time Out - No. 21 TCU Defeats Waves, 86-69 The Pepperdine Waves challenged No. 19/22 TCU in non-conference women's basketball action Dec. 21 at Firestone Fieldhouse, falling 86-69 in the championship game of the 2003 Malibu Beach Classic. Pepperdine's loss was overshadowed by senior forward Nicole Funn's spectacular night where she scored a career-high 28 points, grabbed five rebounds and added three steals for the Waves. Tournament MVP Sandora Irvin had 11 blocks and 16 points for the Lady Frogs.

«Through nine games, Shandrika Lee is averaging a team-high 12.0 points followed by Nicole Funn's 10.8 points per game average.
«Pepperdine made 37.5 percent of its shots, including 30.4 percent from the three-point line (49-161), and 60.4 from foul line (97-149).
«Five players have been high-point this season: Law (three), Kelli Spencer, Nicole Funn (twice), Shannon Mayberry, and Lee (twice).

«The Panthers rallied past Alabama 61-55.
«The Great Danes dropped Bucknell 62-45.
«Amaka Agugua paces Hofstra with 14.8 ppg. and 8.0 while Cigi McCollin averages a second-best 10.2 ppg.
Other Tidbits:
«Two of Pepperdine's top player's, Shandria Lee and Shanell Law, are still suffering from preseason injuries but are expected to play this weekend.
«Law has missed four contests this season. She is the team's third leading scorer.
«Pepperdine has used a different starting line-up in every game this season.
Pepperdine Roster Change: The Pepperdine women's basketball program welcomed a new addition to the squad. Alison Klingel, a 5-10 guard who hails from Grants Pass, Oregon, is a walk-on and will wear the No. 10 jersey. Although a sophomore in the classroom, Klingel will be a freshman on the court. She was discovered in a basketball class coached by assistant Derek Wynn.
All-Tournament Team Queens Depth is one advantage the Waves pose this season as three different players stood out at various tournaments. Kelli Spencer and Shanell Law were named to the 2003 Yellowbook Turkey Shoot-out hosted by the Waves during Thanksgiving weekend. After recording 12 points one night and a career-high 28 the next day, Nicole Funn garnered honors at the Malibu Beach Classic.
