A native of San Clemente, Calif., Maddi Desiano comes to Pepperdine after a stint on three different professional soccer teams, most recently a member of the Spokane Zephyr FC in 2025/26. Prior to Washington, Desiano played a year overseas in the top league in Denmark with Odense Boldklub in 2024/25 after being drafted 48th overall in the 2023 NWSL Draft by the Houston Dash.
As a 2022 graduate, Desiano was a member of the UCLA Women's Soccer team from 2018-2022. As a Bruin, Desiano played four seasons with UCLA, securing two PAC 12 Championships and the NCAA National Championship in 2022, playing every minute in the National Championship match.
Outside of soccer, Desiano recently published her first book: “Bend Never Break,” a biographical book retelling the story of the 2022 UCLA Women’s soccer run to the National Championship.
