A member of Pepperdine's athletics staff since 2002, Kevin Wright was promoted to Associate Director of Athletics in October 2020.

In his role, Wright serves as the athletic trainer for the women's volleyball and men's tennis programs. He also serves as the sport administrator for the soccer and swim & dive programs.

Wright was previously named the Head Athletic Trainer in August 2009 after serving Pepperdine as an assistant athletic trainer for seven years. He was promoted to Assistant AD for Sports Medicine in August 2015.

He oversees sports medicine, serves as the NCAA Athletics Healthcare Administrator, and is co-lead of the Student Care Team/athletic mental health area. He has sport administration oversight for swim/dive and women's soccer.

Wright is a 1996 graduate of Pepperdine, having earned a degree in sports medicine with an emphasis in athletic training.

He went on to earn a master's degree in exercise and movement science from the University of Oregon in 1999.

He is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers Association. He holds certifications in Blood Flow Restriction, Myofascial Decompression, and Graston therapies.  Wright has been an adjunct professor in the Pepperdine Natural Science Department since 2008.

Prior to joining Pepperdine's staff in the fall of 2002, he spent more than two years as the head athletic trainer and assistant professor of Kinesiology at Christian Heritage College, an NAIA school in El Cajon, Calif. He also worked at the University of San Diego as an assistant athletic trainer in 2000, at Loyola University of Chicago as an intern in 1999, and at Oregon from 1997-99 as a graduate assistant.

He is married to Carrie (Romer) Wright, a former Pepperdine women's volleyball standout. They have two children, Calista and Mari.
