Hanna Spevak joined Pepperdine Athletics in August 2025 as the department's sports nutritionist.
Spevak is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist who earned her master’s degree in nutrition from the University of the Pacific and completed her dietetics rotations there as well. She finished her sport and performance nutrition rotation at UC Davis Athletics. Additionally, she has experience working with the USA Volleyball men’s and women’s national teams, offering services such as group nutrition education and individual nutrition counseling.
Spevak is a former Division I athlete who played volleyball at Winthrop University. While living in South Carolina, she grew more interested in how nutrition impacts health and athletic performance. Her experience as a student-athlete motivated her to pursue a career in collegiate sports nutrition and to serve as a resource for other athletes. Outside of Pepperdine Athletics, Hanna also works in clinical settings with patients facing various health issues, including cardiovascular disease, kidney disease, diabetes, and gastrointestinal conditions. She has also spoken at multiple sports camps on nutrition and fueling for athletic performance. When she is not working, Hanna enjoys staying active through weight training and yoga, spending time outdoors, and cooking at home.
As a dietitian, Hanna is passionate about highlighting the importance of nutrition in athletic performance, recovery, and overall health. She looks forward to contributing to Pepperdine’s proud tradition of athletic excellence.
