Chris Gilbert

Chris Gilbert joined Pepperdine in February 2021 as an Assistant Sports Performance Coach.
 
In this role, Gilbert assists with all facets of the strength and conditioning program for Pepperdine Athletics and manages strength and conditioning for all sports.
 
Before arriving in Malibu, Gilbert served Cal State Dominguez Hills for five years as the assistant strength and conditioning coach, assisting with all aspects of the department and serving as the strength and conditioning coach to assigned teams.
 
Prior to CSUDH, Gilbert was an athletics performance intern at UCLA. Prior to that he was a strength and conditioning volunteer assistant coach at Loyola Marymount.
 
Gilbert graduated from Loyola Marymount with a bachelor's degree in health and human sciences in 2010. He was a strength and conditioning intern as well as a teacher's assistant for the strength and conditioning lab. He received his master’s degree in sport management from Long Beach State in 2021. Gilbert became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) in April 2011.
 
Gilbert has a wife, Kanya. The couple has two children: daughter, Milo, and son, Bodhi.
