Amanda Kurtz joined the Pepperdine staff in December 2011 and she currently serves as an Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Internal Operations and the Senior Woman Administrator.
In September 2024, she became the Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Internal Operations, while also retaining her SWA duties.Â
In August 2015, she was promoted from Associate Director of Compliance to Director of Compliance, and in October 2015, she became the Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance. In 2018, her duties expanded as she became the Associate Director of Athletics for Academics & Compliance. She added SWA duties in October 2020.
She oversees compliance, academic support and sports performance and is the Title IX liaison. She has sport oversight of men's volleyball, men's golf and men's and women's cross country and track.
Before coming to Pepperdine, Kurtz worked for the West Coast Conference as a sports services coordinator and also taught Yoga for a year.
She grew up in Pocahontas, Iowa, and earned her bachelor's degree at Central College in Pella, Iowa, completing a double major in exercise science and business administration in 2006. She also got her master's degree at the University of Iowa in 2008 in athletic administration.
Formerly Amanda Wood, she married Nick Kurtz in September 2015.
